Project Reflections
What did I learn?
Creating this product drew my focus to the statistics on app/technology use among farmers especially in third world countries and how I could make this product relevant, efficient and accesible to said farmers.
- Digital technology through mobile apps is an entry point to precision agriculture which has immense benefits.
- If agricultural apps are to have the transformative effect that is intended for them, simple apps have to be designed for simple phones.
Design for Simplicity
One way to ensure this, experts say, is by enlisting the aid of smallholder farmers in the development process—asking them how they might best make use of such technologies and then designing them accordingly.`
Future Opportunitites
Designing and Developing the E-Commerce Store to complete the functionalities of the product
Mche aims to provide a platforms that bring together providers of different services such as produce buyers, seed suppliers, equipment lease services and land lease services together with farmers to completely close the gap.
AI Functionalities
Mche, like the rest of the rapidly developing agriculture landscape, has the opportunity to sync it's on-app AI services to on-site systems like AI powered robotics, sensors and farm equipment to further optimize systems, operations and expected results.
Harvesting Insights on the Agriculture Value Chain
Mche, provides a unique opportunity to gain insights into the entire value chain of agriinputs and thus has a meaningful impact for producers, retailers, and, most importantly, smallholder farmers, bringing more transparency to the relationship between all stakeholders. and ultimately generating more business from the different stakeholders for itself.
